In Cali their light meter better show 70% light transmission on the front windows or your getting a ticket. Don’t even think about doing the windshield here!

Is there anything Cali that you are actually allowed to do?

thousands of AZ residents get tint violations in CA, along with 55mph trailer towing in right lane only. 75 MPH in AZ towing too!

I wonder if with my medical exemption if I travel to say North Carolina would I get a ticket or do you think they’d at least see I have a medical reason for the tint?

How do u like the 15% on the windshield? I've got a car with 5% on the sides and 35% on the windshield. Inside the car the windshield tint is hardly noticeable. I might do the 15% on my Ram's windshield when I get the time.

I love it! I drove it really first time at night last night and it didn’t bother me a bit. I haven’t been pulled over yet. I think it’s the perfect combo.

For the past ten years in Missouri, I ran 5% all the way around with a brow, which is illegal. Only two tint tickets due to speeding. $85 and no need of proof of removal. When I got my truck, I switched it up because a buddy of mine did 5% all the way around and 35% full windshield. I ended up just doing the windshield 35% and my front windows are probably 27ish and back 10ish. I love this combo much better and a full windshield tint is hardly noticeable compared to a brow.

Depends on your state laws and if your wanting to take a chance or not. Here in Florida IIRC it’s something like 6% for the rears and 30% for the fronts. I have tinted windows on all my vehicles over the years and never been bothered all the way down to 5%. Don’t draw attention to yourself and you minimize the chance of being pulled over for it. Those limo tint days are over for me I enjoy being to see at night and it not being complete dark in my car during the day, so I tend to stick around 15-20% all around and either a brow or have the windshield tinted with 70% ceramic to help keep the heat out and darks the interior just slightly. I forget the actually % done on the back windows of the ram but I wanted everything to match. I hate having different shades all around. Fronts either 15-20% windshield is 70%. I work out of state most of the year and have yet to have a issue with whatever state I’m travel through.

I’ve always done the side windows with 5 percent and definitely wouldn’t do the 15% on full windshield unless it was legal for you to do so.
