Totally personal preference depending on use.
There is also the legality of it that can vary state to state but most say no tint below the AS1 line that is on the windshield. So if there's heavy enforcement like in my state it's not worth the summons.

35 will be way too dark for windshield.

Most places it's illegal for any time in windshield, including the top as1 section. 2018 I believe was when OEM stopped tinting tops of windshields because it's now illegal in many places.

That might be a Canadian thing. The OP is from GA in the US. There are only 3 states that don't permit the upper part of the windshield and GA is not one of them.

I did above the AS1 line on mine in 5%. Thought about doing 35% on the lower section, it might not appear too tinted if the top strip is darker. Just a thought.
The top strip helps a lot when the sun gets low in the winter months.

Go with 50% first , it's plenty dark but light enough in the daytime to not catch the attention of cops ... knock on wood but so far I haven't been stopped by cops for my 5% all around and the 50% up front and I have had cops drive by next to me and the cops sitting on the road with their guns catching people who are speeding .... as long as you don't speed at least in my area they don't mess with you if you have tinted windows ...

Sounds like any degree of tint will help you…l

Is your Ram lifted? Don’t think most would notice, nor care about the ‘upper’ windshield area. Can’t see that high anyways if it is.

Keep in mind the primary concern with ‘tinting’ is that the Officer needs to see inside and the driver….. for SAFETY. Which is why if you ever get pulled over….. lower all windows, shut off the vehicle, and don’t be an ass :waytogo:

Mine are tinted, and never have had an issue with it.

Go for it :waytogo:

I've got 50% on all my cars windshields.

Huge difference in glare and heat rejection. My wife's pacifica with that huge windshield is a major difference.

I wouldn't suggest darker than 50%. Below is my cayman with 50% on front, 20% sides - and my truck, same 50% front, 20% on front sides.
