I just picked up a new Ram 1500 and was looking it over. The only thing I did to it was add a Billet catch can ..fairly simple.

Afterwards, I don't know it this is related or not since I have only had the vehicle a few hours, but I was sitting inside the vehicle going through the radio settings and put the vehicle in the on position but not running.. This is when the wipers started to run and I checked the settings on the wiper control selector and it is in the off position. I couldn't get it to stop until I started the vehicle and then it continued to run for a couple of cycles and then stop.

This doesn't seem normal...any suggestions or have you seen this problem before.

Thanks in advance.

I think it does but it wasn't raining and the windshield was dry. I even turned the wipers to the off position. The only other thing I had done was try the remote start with the hood up which apparently doesn't work that way. One I shut the hood and hit the report start it fired right up. I haven't seen and other error messages.

My guess would be a problem with the sensor. I don't have the rain sense wipers so I'm not real sure how they work. I would at least contact your dealer and let them know about it.

in order for the rain sensitive to work you need to have it on to at least the slowest speed on intermediate

Update: as of this morning they seem to be working fine. Maybe sitting overnight reset the computer somehow, but I'll keep an eye out to see if I have the problem again. Only had happened when truck was not running but the push button start was in the "Run" position.

Sounds like the rain sensing wipers to me too. I had mine go crazy (high speed) when I had a little ice on the windshield. Couldn't get them to stop. Finally had to disable them in the settings.

The rain sensing wipers will activate when there is any moisture on the windshield. Could even be bird ****. My buddy has a 16 Laramie and his came on one day as a bird **** on the windshield. They're crazy sensitive...

Update: Dropped it off at dealer this morning and they said it was a malfunctioning switch. Ordering a replacement that will be in tomorrow.
