Hi all, Swapped out all my factory speakers with a set of kickers that I got from a member here. Definitely improved the sound alot, but on songs with alot of base my rear components are starting to get distorted. I want to go to a amp and sub combo in a foxbox, but have no idea how to wire it. I understand some people use a DSP and some use a LOC but im completely lost. Budget is $800 for the whole sub combo. This is the Foxbox I was looking at DODGE QUAD & CREW CAB 1-10" VENTED PASS SIDE W/ AMP RACK

Thanks

If your only doing an amp on a sub a basic LOC or an amp with high level inputs will work. If you are going to amp your fronts some day the i would say spend the mondy now on a dsp so you have it

The DSP will become the brain of your whole system. Buy that first along with a decent amp and all the wiring you will need or take it to a reputable shop close to you. Later on add the subs, Fox box and amp for the subs.

Everything looks good, but that box. I started out with the 12" version of that same box and it was crap.

Im probably going with either a home built box or a fox box and do some modding to it. Dont like the fact that the Fox Box hangs over the edge of the bottom of the seat.

go for the 12 inch so you have a little more output and a custom box.

I will go with a 12. Where will I take the signal from? Splice into the speaker output for the rear door speakers? So if so then Tap Rear speaker wires > kicker DSP > Amp > sub?

I have a 2012 regular cab with the alpine and when I had my dsp I tapped into the front dash and doors.

OP, with that setup the DSP is not necessary. you can save 200 if you just do a LOC. A dsp is really only needed to fine tune

I figure do it right the first time and if I want to upgrade down the road I don't have to.
