I have done a good bit with motors but never the electronics part especially wiring. I have an 89 dodge d150 in which I need a complete rewiring from front to back as someone previously tried to straight wire something to the battery and screwed the wiring up badly. So my question is would wiring for a 1988 d150 work for mine? Also where would be a good place to look for wiring for my truck? (LMC?)

i believe a 88 harness should work. no one sells harness's so your best bet would probably be to pull the old harness's of the truck and inspect/repair as needed. even if you bought a used harness it would be advisable to do the same thing.

At least I'm not the only one having harness issues and not being able to find one. I'm in the same boat with my 89 d150. It's amazing that no one sells harnesses for this year :( Also LMC don't sell our harness.

way too many changes from 85-93 for any company to make aftermarket harness's especially for the 88-93 trucks. there is probably places out there that will rebuild a harness but they are probably not cheap

Yeah and I fear I have to replace every wire 1 by 1 until they are all new. If that's what it takes for my project truck then so be it but that's gonna be a complete ***** but to me worth it.

you don't need to replace every wire but you do need to open the harnesses up and test every wire and replace the damaged ones.
