Here’s the work truck, does all the hauling and towing. Bought it new in 2012, and now has 122K on her.

I'm building a big damn smoker. It's a 250 gallon propane tank with a warming cabinet on it. Most of this will make the firebox. It's 5/16" thick.
Heavy as hell too

That will make one hell of a firebox, and should hold the heat in good. That steel is expensive. I just finished up a rack to store scraps. That should save me some trips to the steelyard and money at the same time.

My truck is probably a "hobby truck" as I bought it for my camping hobby. I bought it to tow my TT, and occasionally use it for home improvement or a load of firewood for home, but it isn't a work truck. If I didn't have the TT, I probably wouldn't have a truck.

My 15 Laramie 1500 is my daily driver to and from the office, has a set of balls and to me is as luxurious as I could imagine. but more importantly makes hobbies a joy. Moto. Golf.
Home projects are conveniently easier. Might run out if this isolation craps keeps up.

ill chime in. i have a true "hobby truck". only used for showing, an occasional parade, or a sunny day weekend cruise. nothing else. i also have another one that could be considered hobby also, shes only used for my hobbies. camping, kayaking, boating, hunting. not a daily driver. still, its not beat to death and always cleaned, polished, and maintained. to each his own, your money your truck your choice. what question i have for OP, why would you care what someone thinks of your scratchs and dents? if thats what you like, carry on. that would be like the ones who keep their trucks nice asking "what do the ones with work trucks think about my shine??"

Mine is a hobby truck if you consider using it for construction work every day a hobby. I keep it clean and park away from others. I could just as easy beat the dickens out of it but I like having a nice ride. This analogy is apples to oranges though, if I was making money selling firewood I'd have me a ****** truck.
This ^^^.

I have a beautiful 2019 Delmonico Red RAM Classic. It stays garaged and we use it for highway travelling. I have a beat up 2004 Chevy Avalanche with 235K miles I use to go to the beach, haul building materials or debris, and drive to work. What's wrong with keeping a nice truck?

I have a 2012 and I do my best to keep it looking as good as new. Don't care what others think. If I want to go 4 wheeling I'd buy me a beat up piece of junk and not care, otherwise there is no such thing as "normal" scratch and dents! Just my opinion and to each his own. Your money, your choice!
