Alright, so one of the things I have comping up on my list of things to do along with audio upgrades are my tails and third brake light tinting. Going through JJ of course with new housings but I cannot make up my mind on getting the mild tint or heavy tint. I've been looking at pictures of both thinking which would look better on my truck and I cannot make up my mind. Everyone I've asked so far here hasn't been of any help either, lol.

So I'm setting up a poll, mild or dark, and here's a picture of my truck and a comparison picture of both tints to get an idea of would they would look like. I'm planning on placing my order Monday so until then, thanks for your help ahead of time.

Well how do you have your heads? Why not just do a medium and match them?

I think mild since some red shows through and you have a red truck

I went with the black metallic in medium instead of dark and I love em. They r still pretty dark and a couple weeks ago my wife said she could barely see my tail light n turns n it was a fairly cloudy day. I voted mild.

Those reasons above are why I started going with the medium in the first place but then lately I've been leaning towards dark because I'm going for the satin black thing and thats when I hit my cross road. I'm not too worried about the visibility of the tails because I have a LED tailgate bar and I was thinking of upgrading my brake lights to LEDs.

I voted for mild. Too dark and they just look cheap. Almost like the black stick-on covers.

I voted for the dark, ties everything together BUT would suggest possibly the mild for visibility reasons. Mine look slightly darker than the mild but not as dark as your other option but haven't had any issues with Johnny Law or anyone rear-ending me lol.

Always go for function not so much fashion.

i voted mild because the darker you go the less light output that you have to change more stuff to make up for, also less change of getting pulled over

Alright guys thanks for all your opinions, I decided to stop a day early and go ahead and order the lights. If you switch my vote to what I originally planned on and change the one that voted dark but suggested mild, then the poll turned 11 to 1 in favor of the mild tint and I doubt that it'll head in favor of dark over the next 24 hours. So thank you again guys, the reasons you guys voted mild are exactly what I was thinking a few months ago when I decided to get mine tinted and now I'll be one step closer to being done with all my lights.

My truck is actually on JJ's site under the mild tint. I personally wanted the darkest possible. But I didn't want added attention from the popo. Being that I already have 5% tint all around. I was happier than a pig in **** when I got them though. They are still dark. But not so dark that you couldn't see the lit bulb. I'm 110% satisfied with my selection, and that I went with JJ.

I voted mild. It gives a hint of red like your head lights

They have a 1.5ish tint to them - and they were making my eyes hurt. LOL

Nice! lol...I was thinking of just installing an LED bulb in mine when they come in. Anyone know a good place to get a set along with an appropriate resistor so I don't get the hyper flash or burned out turn signal notice?

ummm, from me.

LOL

I actually have a set of red LEDs here (you want RED) and some resistors.....

Let me check what I have in them and I'll get back to you - I know normally they would run 55+shipping - I think I have 40 in them.

jj, what LED tails did you start with?

No way any LED bulb can match an aftermarket LED tail.

Those are the same ones I had on my truck for a while. Kinda like yours.

And yup, 15 LEDs in these tails blows away the bulbs.
