I would level mine again but only w a 1.5” thuren coil spring over the 2.5” thuren coil spring...I don’t tow much but I do carry some decent payload and I squat just enough to have the rear about 1” lower than the front.

I'm posting for the HD 3500 DRW guys. I lowered the back to level mine. I simply moved spacers from between the axle and spring pack to the top of the spring pack. $0 and about 1 hr to lower the back almost two inches. And when I tow the flatbed gooseneck or 5er camper, the airbags bring it back up to level.

I leveled using Bilstein's set to 2.1. I think the mistake some people make is to set them to 2.8. At 2.1, I still had a very small rake which was not noticeable except if you analyzed it on a perfectly level surface. That allowed for moderate loads without being nose-high. I like the level look. This was my prior RAM.

i bet this truck cant even haul 75% of its rated capacity because he got all that leveling junk on it. two measly dirt bikes ( less then 500lb) and its sagging probly atleast 1in lower in the rear than front. really shamefull if you ask me

I do like the way leveling a truck looks but have been reading some horror stories after the fact (adverse handling, death wobble, etc). I rarely tow anything with my truck but do haul stuff to gun shows in the bed. I do not want to do anything to adversely effect the handling of my truck, and frankly would like to improve it if at all possible. The drag link recall is done (Thanks again Ramcares!), and I did install a rough country steering brace which helped tighten everything up. So my question to all of you who have leveled your truck.... Would you do it again? Do you regret it? Any difference in the way it handled after? Better or worse.

Unlikely leveling is going effect steering or handling as long as it's done right. Big improvements replacing the track bars with good after market bars (Thuren or Carli).

I went with bilstein springs and 5100's plus a solid adjustable trackbar. Rides WAY BETTER than factory. No more bottoming out.

I wish I would've done it sooner. I have airbags in the back for when I haul my truck camper so squating is never an issue.

I won't level my truck after leveling my 06 1500. I used the bilsteins shocks to level it and I noticed right away that my gas mileage went down after the level. I think the rake serves two purposes, one to keep it level when towing and two to help with airflow over the truck. Leveling it caused more drag as it exposed the front driveline etc. That is my opinion of course but the mileage did go down and that is a fact. I was getting about 20 mph on the highway and after the level it fluctuated between 16-18.

Nope, leveled my old "03 4x2 and it's a PITA, had to go with spindles.

I'd say save up and do it right. I'm looking at Carli for our 2018 Ram but I don't want to drop $4K, plus you'll lose ~10% towing capacity (I did inquire about that)... since we already have it for 3 years and I think we'll leave the suspension as is, stock.

I went with the Carli Commuter 2.0 system for my 2012 RAM 3500. I upgraded for a better ride and got a level stance in the deal, which I strongly prefer. I also had airbags installed so that I can keep it level T/H. I had this professionally installed last week.

Front - CS-DC20-10-D Carli Dodge Commuter 2.0 System (3" lift)
  • 3" lift linear rate coil springs (50% more travel) (10" travel)
  • Torsion Sway Bar & Adjustable Track Bar
  • Extended Control Arms and Low Mount Stabilizer
  • Carli Tuned Fox 2" IFP Shocks
  • Fits tire sizes up to 37"
Rear:
  • Carli Progressive Add-A-Pack (replaced overload spring with 5 additional smaller leafs with NO loss of cargo capacity)
  • 94295 AirLift Pro Series Air Bag Kit (no compressor)
  • Carli Tuned Fox 2" IFP Shocks
  • Rear Travel 12"
  • Removed factory spacer between leaf springs and axle in 2017

New Tires:
  • Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 tires, 295/70/R18 E1 (34.3") These were on sale in this size last week for less than $250/tire.
Cost was more than I wanted to spend on shocks and tires, but I went for it. Last year I drove with a 7,000# travel trailer from SoCal to NY and back. Doing that again this year. In two more years I plan to take the travel trailer to Alaska for a couple months. Many trips will follow that. My largest trailer was a fiver weighing 13,200#, which is BTW my max tow rating.

Since you asked, the parts were almost $4,900. Labor was $1,100. Tires and alignment were another $1,200. (includes $700 California sales tax)

They look good with a small lift, but the purpose of me buying the 2500 was to tow my camper so I'm not adding more lift to the front just for looks.

Kinda past the whole modifying phase of my life. Unless the modification offers value and usefulness, I'm not doing it.

I tow so no lift. Modifying in small amounts I think is fine. If I do level my truck it would only be 2” max.

I have the factory off-road package with the Bilstiens on my 2500. Looks pretty level to me. I do not see any advantage to messing around with the OEM setup. Having the front higher is only going to increase wind resistance and lower gas mileage.

I have mine levelled and it had no affect to handling...drives as new and works perfectly.
