I was happy towing my 12K toyhauler with my 2013 Ram 2500 diesel, it pulled fine in the mountains, and controlled the down hills just fine. No white knuckles. pulling onto private propert with steep driveways in 4-wheel low was nothing. Passing 65 mph speed limited semi's on the interstate at 70-75 was not an issue.

The issue is with my 2020 RAM 3500 diesel dually. I do not like to hold up traffic so as I pass the semi's I try to get by quickly. I have to learn to hold back as this HO/Aisen combo will have me at 85 quickly! Oh my! And smooth. If I am not looking at the speedometer I do not realize how fast I am going.

This only the second time pulling the camper, because of 2020, and first without the wife in the cab. When the time comes that we buy a heavier camper, I will not be concerned at all. The newer campers we are looking at are usually at or below 18k. so it will be closer to 70% payload instead of the 50% now.

Damn thing has me looking for loads to pull! Almost better than sex! lol

Running it till she breaks!

That's great man, that your love your truck, you spent enough for it that's for sure.

Glad your enjoying it. I don't tow enough or heavy enough to justify a diesel or I'd buy one. Maybe someday

Be careful goose, the junk tires on the RV's are usually only rated to maybe 65. Our last rig was roughly in the 12k weight range. It did pull pretty spry. Now we have a solid 15K weighted fiver, the difference is very, very apparent. Theres a lot more weight, and it doesnt accelerate like the other rig would. Be careful, the dually is great tool, but man some of those big toy haulers are very heavy.

Enjoyed reading your post. I also have the HO 6.7/ Aisin combo in my 2019 3500 dually. After driving a 1995 Toyota Tacoma for 23 years I rewarded myself and bought it as a year end clearance Jan 31st. Mine is a Laramie 4x4 and has the chrome package and is bright white with Mountain Brown and beige interior w/ the 12 inch touch screen.

Glad to hear, it sounds like you're well equipped to tow damn near whatever you want. Enjoy that beast.

Yeah, I don't NEED an HD diesel either, but I sure do WANT one. Like you said, maybe someday...

Hey man, that's all that matters! If you want one and can afford it, go for it! Life is to short. I just know for me personally, I don't need the capacity of a Cummins and I don't run my truck often so a diesel isn't a good option for me, right now.
