I've been running Cougar Motor LEDs for about 4 months now, but was itching to try HIDs in my low beams.
Finally got around to it today with these:
HYB 55w Canbus-safe ballasts
Xtremevision H11 6000k HID bulbs
Brightsource pre-drilled dust covers (I siliconed them for extra waterproofing)
Mounted everything with 3M tape on the inside of the painted rail
Here's the results
HIDs only
HIDs and Cougar 9005 LED highs
Totally happy with the results and the HIDs throw light farther down the road than LEDs.
Got no flashes tonight, and can see SO much better that I couldn't care less about the "can't use HIDs in reflectors" argument. I'm sorry I didn't do this sooner!
