Love my 2016 sport, although I wish I had a 2018 with factory Apple carplay / Android auto..

Any idea how hard and expensive or if it's possible to upgrade the head unit for that? Or whatever you have to do? Not sure.

It's easy enough to do, just need a comparable media hub, wiring adapter for the hub and the radio UAS or UAQ). It's plug-n-play(nothing to program) and the biggest $$$ is how much the radio cost you. Watch the classified section below or even your local salvage yards. www.car-part.com

I’ve seen units being sold between $1200-$1500. There’s also a company that sells them brand new ready to install along with the paired USB port for 2k. It’s not a cheap upgrade.

They were great engines. Those old Darts with the slant 6 & torqueflite trans, the body would rust off the car before the drivetrain gave you any problems.

Slant 6, You'd have to buy a 1970's vehicle to get one of those.
I think that was his point.

I think '87 was the last year in trucks, but I believe it continued into '88 for cars. Ingersol-Rand used the slant six until 2000 or 2001 on their trailered air compressors. The town of Perinton, NY, (near me) bought a trailered Slant Six water pump in 2002, but I don't remember the manufacturer.

I remember as a 16yo a local man wanted to sell me his old Dart. Slant 6,pushing oil and smoke out the dipstick tube.Could hardly even get it started. It would do a chuch, chuch, chuch as it idled and puff a lotHe wanted $150 more than it was worth. He was asking $150 for it. I turned him down.

Funny...I bought mine when I was about 20 for $150, and one day a guy gently rear ended it while it was parked. His insurance company gave me $200, and I eventually sold it for $50. (The $100 profit went for all the oil it went through...about 50 miles per quart...no kidding!)

I also had to install steering wheel volume and changer rocker switches to really use the radio easily when I upgraded my 2018 from the basic radio to a 8.4 UAS.

The buttons on the back of the steering wheel are completely optional for using the UAS/UAQ but the phone and voice command on the front do make using the radio hands free.
