OK, i have a Duel headlamp setup right now. I also have a HID setup in the truck already. Also have stock headlamps.
OK, with all that information being out there, My question is. Would i be able to install the CCFL spyder lights in my truck simply my removing my stock housing, and installing the new spyder housing.
Will I need to change HID bulb sizes? Will i have to rewire something in the HID setup because of the HI/Lo setup of the Spyders.

Sorry, but this **** confuses the F*** outta me.

Edit: this is planned to be one of my christmas presents to myself.

From what I'm seeing all i need to do is buy a set of H1 bulbs and replace the bulbs in my hid kit and these will fit in the new spyders.

Correct me if Im wrong.

The spyder headlight is plug and play BUT if you want to use hid you will need h1 bulbs you can use the ballest you have now as far as high beams thats a separate bulb and will have a plug as far as the ccfl rings and the leds you will need to splice into your running lights so they come on with your lights need any more info let me know

S hey black out. I have another question about the highs. SO the lows require a H1, i ordered those. The spyderes dont come with a high beam bulb in them already. IN my current HID setup i have the duels. Only one bulb. What am i supposed to do. order a 9005 high beam halogen bulb and stick it in spyders and plug in stock wiring harness? or do i need to order a hid high kit? im so f*cking confused.... omg

you can get either a halogen 9005 bulb or a 9005 hid kit, once you get the headlights and see the connections inside it should make more sense to you, they are similar in setup to the factory quads, the light housing from the outside only has one plug that controls the high and low bulbs, behind the dust cover each bulb has its own proper plug

If it's like my Spec-D's were, the hi-beam took a H1 as well. It should say on the housing as well.

I'd advise not going to HID in the hi-beam for now. They take about 10 to 20 seconds to come on full power. The HID's in mine didn't line up quite right which made the light poor because it wasn't hitting the reflector right.

Some of that had to do with the bottom bar on the HID.

Some say there is no problem with HID's in either with the Spyders. I had no problem with HID's in the halogen low beam projector, but had to slightly modify the hi-beams.

I had to slightly modify the spring clip on the back to accommodate the HID bulb as well to hold them in.

If you scroll over the pictures, you'll see which was hi-beam and which was low. There wasn't a huge difference.

I just ran HID's in all because I have to run DRL's.

Hope this helps a bit.

As for wiring, I'd grab a harness from JJ, or local. Run the HID's to the ballast from the battery. Use the stock harness to the lights for the hi-beams. Use tap in connections to run the low beam signal to the harness to tell the harness to fire on the HID's.

You could also use the + and - that go to the lo-beam to signal the ballasts to trigger the lo-beam ballasts, but there might be a delay or chance of flicker.

You can try it that way to see if you like. If it works for you, all the better. Best bet is get the harness from JJ and take the lo-beam signal from the drivers side light. You'll be getting true power off the battery and also protect your system on the truck as well.

It's not as bad as you think. The hardest part for me was figuring out where to put the ballasts to be out of the way.

If you look at my earlier posts, you'll see where I put them.

When i get the lights, ill rip it all apart and see what i need/how to hook up. Just wanted to get my mind right and try and grab everything before hand.

Also, i RARELY use my highs. so could i just use a halogen bulb and plug just my highs into the stock harness, and run the hids in the lows. Would everything still work the way its suppossed to that way?

LOL since your in CT I'd say bring it down to me and I can look it all over.

Not sure the high would function in a dual light setup going to a quad setup. In my factory quad setup when I hit the highs both lows and highs are on. Same with my HID setup.

So I'd need to buy a 9005 hid kit for the highs as well?
Ima install what I can and if that means no highs for a while, then I'll do it and order a hid hi kit

if your not going to use the highs a lot. Save money and just get some halogen bulbs. I kept mine halogen for 2 reasons cheaper and fail safe(if the HIDs fail I will still have lighting at night)

So I can put 9005 halogen bulbs in there and connect them to the y harness and the hid's will still work in the lows? If so then this is the route I'm going

You'll have to check, but I think the hi-beams are H1's as well.
