hey guys and girls,
I have a 2011 Ram Sport, and when I look up, in the center of the truck where the map lights and such are, I notice what looks like a camera in the middle. Looks like it's facing at a downward angle toward the back seat. Can someone enlighten me?

I think this is the infrared sensing device that.." automatically checks the temperature of the driver and front passenger, as well as the air temperature inside the cabin to create a customized, comfortable environment."

We had one of these in our 2006 Commander. It looked like a little cemera lense. Except it was on the center of the dash right around the climate controls.

I bet thats for the climate control or (because of the angle) its a light sensor for your auto dimming rearview mirror. It'll be interesting to see what it ends up being.
Did you call your salesman yet?

No, I have not called the salesman yet.

Yes, I have the digital climate control, and I don't think it's a green light. I'll have to pay more attention to it next time I drive (which probably wont be til the weekend).

It checks the temperature for your climate control.

i agree that it has to be for climate control. I don't have the digital system and all i have is the indent in that location and no sensor like that.

You can always test it to see if its for the dimming rear view mirror by putting your finger over it at night when there someone behind you. Your mirror will turn very bright.
