I have a 2000 24v ram2500. I got a new lift pump but after I moved the filter housing out of the way I noticed that the lift pump isn't bolted to the bracket. There's what looks like the top of the lift pump there without the pump itself, that has both the inlet and outlet hoses plumbed into it.. and the plug for the lift pump is plugged into a harness that goes rearward. Is it possible someone changed to an instant pump? And, if they did, it's not working so can I reinstall the new stock lift pump, replace it to the mines and plug and run it without damaging it by pulling fuel through the intake pump?
