Beat by a tenth of a second.That's a lot in a drag race! I had a slant 6 in a Duster once that the waterpump bearing was seizing up.I put a new pump on it and it was like going from worn out spark plugs to new plugs,performance wise. Lol.So with a new waterpump I may could beat you!I had the "Super Six" with the two barrel carb, I would have beat @Octane with a screaming 11.9 seconds...lol
Cars and trucks have become way more complicated than need be these days. The .225 slant six and the Ford 300 Straight six were both very reliable. Its really too bad they don't still make them with modern day materials and tech. Imagine how much better and more powerfull they would be . However its not the mechanics that make vehicles unreliable any more, its the tech, its all the technical stuff that fails.
