You can also get work done at a 3rd party mechanic as long as Mopar approves the repair/shop first (for the Mopar MaxCare).

No as long as we are talking about the Mopar Maxcare extended warranty. It is good nationwide at any factory Ram service shop.

There can be all kinds of loopholes in the after market ext warranties though.
Thanks, I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Before I start making calls (and making myself look foolish) I'm hoping someone can answer a quick question.

I have a 2018 Longhorn. I had the Ram Certified Pre-Owned warranty when I bought it with 35k miles (currently 95k). I foolishly misunderstood the warranty term so I believe I'm now out of that warranty.

Are any Mopar (aka MaxCare) warranties an option since I'm currently "uncovered"? Am I left with aftermarket warranty options? Thanks.

Yes, you can still get a Mopar MaxCare warranty.

There are two options for the MaxCare - new vehicle ESP and used vehicle ESP. You would obviously be in the used vehicle MaxCare category. I have not read the used vehicle policy but I can only assume that it covers the same stuff as the new vehicle one since they are both under the Mopar MaxCare umbrella.

There are fewer policy options (years, miles, deductible). I recommend taking a peek at Ziegler's site to see what is available along with ballpark prices so you have an idea before you make your calls.

When you put in your info the site will automatically take you the used vehicle ESP route since you are not replacing a warranty and your truck is not currently under a warranty.

Besides policy options and price, the other difference is that the used vehicle ESP starts the day you purchase it. It does not backdate like the new vehicle one.

Do you have a link to the Ziegler site? I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Today I found out that Granger Motors offers lower prices then Ziegler on an 8/100K Max Care warranty, Granger was lower than Ziegler by $365.00 on my 2022 CTD... I also checked a few other places that also offer Mopar warranties and none of them could beat Granger prices: https://www.buymoparwarranty.com/

So dredging up a 6 mo old thread. Any recent experiences choosing between Ziegler and Granger Motors and pricing for a Max Care plan?

Both would be selling essentially the same plan - is this correct?

If you think a local dealership will be good enough, Look at their paperwork,.
In 2009 they sold me a Extended Warranty, BUT it was not a MOPAR Extended warranty.
It was a 3rd party warranty that was only good Locally, if i had issues say in another State, they said that they would only cover it, at their family of dealerships.
Luckily the Ram only broke down near Home

If you want a lower cost MOPAR Extended Warranty, buy it from
Zeigler or Granger, or someone that will match their prices

I now have a Mopar Extended Warranty through Zeigler & found out that for a bit better price, i could have gone with Granger

Doing quick on-line quotes it looks like Granger is about $400+/- cheaper. I’ll probably give them a call Monday.

Granger was the lowest when I purchased MaxCare three months ago, March 2024. <<< 100% MOPAR MaxCare.

I also looked at Ziegler and others mentioned earlier in the thread. <<< $Hundreds higher for same plan.

EDIT... Zeigler Granger Best cost, Same coverage. Easy decision.

Apologize for any confusion. Granger hands down, lowest cost.

Did you/can you complete the process on line or did you have to call them? In the posts above and a Granger thread I found they are not exactly freely posting their phone number and encouraging calls.

^^^ One of the reasons I went with Zeigler. You are working with the dealership and not a specific salesperson or two. Every time I called, someone answered. Every time. And that someone was always able to answer my question or take care of whatever I needed.

Call Zeigler to find out what their deals are. In addition to coupon codes they gave me an additional discount over the phone.

All said and done I think I paid about $50-$100 over the lowest possible price but was worth it for the customer service IMO.

If I buy another Mopar warranty they will be my only call.

Just my .02

Called them. While a great deal, buying MaxCare through them, the gal I spoke with was not a hard charger.

BUT, definitely got the job done with a great price and warranty in my hands AND in documented in the Mopar computers.

Handful of emails, some calls, then electronic sign a maintenance contract , CC payment and a maintenance contract in my hands (email / PDF) within a day or two.

Well worth it.

This link may be helpful, to speak with a Granger Service Contracts person. https://www.grangermotors.com/staff.aspx

Gal I worked with.
