My buddy has a 2002 Ram 1500 2WD with a Fabtech 6" suspension kit on it. Yesterday he heard a pop and found this.....

IMG_0099.jpg

I am 99.9% sure this is a bracket included in the kit to raise the stock front sway bar up off of the lower control arm where it is mounted from the factory (I am going off some pictures, but I am fairly certain of it)...can these brackets be purchased through you or only through Fabtech directly?

Any help in helping me help my friend would be greatly appreciated...

I was thinking four wheeling hitting a hard or deep rut at speed with some hoonkin tires. Looks like pressure came at it a few diff ways.

I can't see the picture but Fabtech will cover under their warranty almost any broken component from their kit. Have your buddy give Armen a call: (909) 597-7800 --- Dial that number and ask the receptionist to be transferred to Armen or someone in the warranty department.

We do not stock individual components like that. We can special order them from Fabtech but in most cases going direct to Fabtech is a better idea. He will need some sort of proof that he is the original owner of the kit. If it's a 2nd (or 3rd) hand kit Fabtech may or may not cover the replacement under warranty.

From what I understand it just popped while driving home
Four wheeling while towing a heavy load?

the previous owner trashed the truck pretty well, but no, no towing

Thanks Jeff, unfortunately he is not the original owner of the truck or the lift. We were lucky enough to find 2 retailers that stock the sway bar brackets last night after I posted this thread...part #'s FF44005 and FF44006

in all honesty i dont think so, i think it was just an under lying pc that had been cracked for a while, possibly from a previous owner, he dont beat on it at all, and the tires really dont weigh any more than my buddies does with his 4wd on 38s, and lift....

Just looking at them they appear to be not as strong as you would think they should be, but I could be wrong. You would think they would gusset them where the sway bar attaches to the bracket.
