That link doesn't go to a specific article... it provides a list of articles and none of the ones I saw had anything to do with suspension or ride height.
Sure, you can adjust the torsion bars and achieve lift on these trucks. Almost every torsion bar equipped truck (Ford, Dodge, GM, Nissan, Toyota) built has some sort of adjustment system that allows you to raise or lower the ride height. At 3" inches of lift height over stock the truck will ride so bad you won't want to drive it. If the threat of a terrible ride isn't enough to sway you CV angle and alignment issues are technical reasons to not do it. The factory CV joints in your trucks front axle shafts do not like operating at or near their maximum rated angles. If you actually use your truck as a truck and operate it in 4wd or 4LO you want to maintain as flat a CV angle as you possible can. Extreme CV angles on these axleshafts leads to rapid failure when they are under load.
The CV angle problem is so severe on some lifted trucks that the aftermarket offers upgraded CV axleshafts. KORE is the most well known supplier. KORE uses a Porsche style CV capable of operating at greater angles without failure. They aren't cheap but good stuff rarely is.
