I searched , I thought I read somewhere that tow haul mode cuts out mds and 7th & 8 th gears were locked out ? Also. What is the light and heavy electric trailer weights for the oem controller ? TIA guys

Tow/Haul doesn't lock out 7th or 8th gears. It delays the shift points for all gears to a higher rpm(less differential torque demand).

Cuts out 8th but not 7th.

Yeah I'm aware of that. Guess I was mistaken on what I thought I read , I'm currently using Light electric mode for my 3500-4000lb enclosed trailer

If I'm not mistaken I have read several times that tow haul doesn't shut off MDS on the 8 speeds just 5/6 speed trucks.

That's odd, I'll tow in 8th gear with the Tow/Haul on.
Try turning the Tow/Haul on without a load and drive down the freeway, see if 8th is locked out.

Mine wont shift into 8th when using tow haul wether I am pulling or not, it just stays in 7th gear.
I guess it might if I was going fast enough but under 70mph or so it wont. So maybe with 3:92s it might ?

It cuts MDS, but can still show 'eco' mode (at least in my 16, as I discovered yesterday), which is just a combination of RPMs and throttle.
Not sure about 8th gear being locked out, but I don't know why it would be. Probably just requires a higher speed than normal because the RPMs will also be higher than normal.

Also, didn't actually get up to 8th gear, but in tow/haul mode, I wasn't blocked from setting 8th as the highest using ERS. *shrug*
