fuel return line goes nowhere, HELP

alright guys. trying to make more progress on my ram, and i have quit a major issue. the fuel return line runs just ends. the line runs from the fuel sending unit, to the frame and into a hard line, which runs to the engine bay along with the fuel feed line and another misc line (no clue, but it doesnt go anywhere on either end so its not important). however, this line was cut off at one point previously, and i have no clue whatsoever where it needs to go. the truck was converted from the stock 2barrel setup to a holly 4 barrel carb, would this change the return setup or eliminate it completely? i need to know asap, gotta purchase the hose so i can run the fuel lines, install the tank and move on to misc wiring and other tedious jobs.

the return line usually connect to the side of the fuel filter by the fuel pump if you have the correct style filter. the truck will run without it but it was usually there to help prevent vapor lock but vapor lock is not as common on small blocks as it was on big blocks.
