I have a 2016 ram 2500 w/6.4 hemi 5,600 miles and today was 73* degrees outside and I noticed last weekend i was towing my 18ft landscape trailer with 2 commercial jd mowers my temps were up there my coolant temp cruising with trailer at say 50mph on open road with 75* ambient temp reading coolant between 209-227* oil temps equal to coolant temp trans was at 165* for most the day, i wasnt working that truck at all with the load keep under 45% throttle at the most today i wasnt towing and coolant was at 219 cruising at 55mph oil temp was 215* that's too high for my liking truck wont last long worh temps that high on a cool fall day barely working it, I have been driving highway this past week to work 65mi each way from middle river - Landover Md i was getting 18.5mpg avg of the whole tank so I've been driving like a ***** so mds activates. I dont see it lasting if i were to hook up a heavy tt or 5th wheel in mid summer be overheating and blowing head gaskets can i have dealer set fan setting lower and get say a 200*tstat or 192* i know or has to be up there for emissions and fuel controlling but that's too damn high

nothing wrong with those temps, actually it's engineered to operate in that range

you could install a 180 stat to try to bring down the coolant temp, but that is completely normal for the engine oil temps

A quality synthetic oil will handle those temps all day long.

My trans temp is 170* normal highway cruising, maybe up to 175* when towing and having to accelerate up a small grade.

Coolant and oil temp fluctuates between 205-215* when cruising, Maybe low 220's when hauling 10k or so. Even in the dead middle of summer my temps were the same, only rise if I'm idling over some hot concrete stuck in traffic or something. But cruising down the road, temps are the same for me regardless if it's 70* or 100*. You seem paranoid for no reason. Change the stat if you want, won't really matter.

My temps are in that range as well. Maybe 1-2 degrees higher when it's above 90 degrees.

Same range I've seen on mine. When you start seeing over 240-250 then you need to worry
