Last year I installed Bilstein 5100's to level my Silverado, a nice side effect was the improved ride. Now I'd like to level my RAM 2500 but all I can find is examples of 2.5 '' spacer kits. I only want to add about 1.5-2 inches and I'd like the ride improvement, anyone out there level their HD with the Bilstein 5100 leveling shocks without using spacers?

Because there are no struts on the 2500, I am not sure the Bilstein's will work....do they even sell a leveling shock for the 2500's?

They don't that I know of. I had fox 2.0 shocks on my leveled truck and they sucked. The bilsteins are much better

:doh2: That's right, since the shocks are not the 'strut' type integrated with the springs (like on 1500's) it would not work. Boy don't I feel stupid! Anyone know of 1.5 or 2'' spacer kit?

I used a Traxda 605030 1.5" leveling kit and Thuren adjustable track bar. For shocks, Bilstein has a set of 4600 series shocks designed specifically for the Ram 2500 trucks. I'm sure there are better options if you want to spend the money but for $330 I thought it was a good investment. They will work with the leveling kit.

Trust me, you don't want a spacer kit and 5100s on a 2500. The ride is harsh as it is, and with an unloaded truck, it's pretty stiff. But great off road.

Silverado has these lower spacers you could have added to the struts and only takes 10 minutes. I've done a few friends trucks that way..

You can find a 2" spacer with a shock extender kit for about $100. If you want to do it the 'better' way, you can do a coil and new longer shocks.

there is something about lifting/leveling a truck and not gaining any suspension travel that really gets to me..... I would save up for something better than a coil and shock spacer kit. even if it takes another year or so.

Thanks for the info everyone, my goal in leveling my truck is to make the stance a bit sharper looking and to give my plow a little more ground clearance. My 9'6'' V plow can't be retracted much during road travel without the corners catching the pavement. Having a straight 9'6'' plow on the front gets a little hairy on tight city streets. Also, I don't want to go the full 2.5'' because my roof top light currently has about 1.5'' clearance when pulling in my garage.

I'm running a 2 1/2 Rough Country spacer and shock extenders with 35s. I like the setup so far. Had it for 3k miles.
