I have been to now 22 auto parts/ other stores looking for the Pennzoil 0w-40 that dream crusher uses for lubricant. I am in West Virginia, and this oil isn't carried anywhere around. I did manage to find a unicorn and wounded it enough to get my 7 quarts now I can go home and change the dreams lubricant. The things we do for our trucks! Hah everyone have a safe great weekend!

I get mine on Amazon too. I keep a couple cases on hand just in case it hits a back order or something.

If you don't live in a cold climate, I'd try using a couple quarts of Redline 10w-40 in each change. It'll keep your viscosity from shearing to a 30wt oil as easily (the PUP shears easily), and will give you a boost in Moly and other additives. I used the Mopar SRT 0w-40, which is supposed to be rebadged PUP, and didn't like it that much...just my opinion though.

man i hear ya i just went through the same dilemma could not find ultra platinum anywhere local , amazon seems like the best bet but the cheapest i see it is over $100 for a case of 3 jugs
i ended up just buying standard platinum full syn at wm for $24.00/ 5qts jug. i have had excellent results on my other vehicles and it's a great oil in itself. trucks has 2200 miles on it, had it changed at dealer for free at 800 miles w/ what i believe they use is a blend. the platinum is going in tomorrow with a napa plat syn media filter. so from here on out it'l be 5k regimen of platinum oil / platinum or gold filter unless i can find the unicorn blood local.
my trucks a 5.7 so no mds i'm bumping up to 5w30. 20 or 30 wt is the recommended oil but kind of old school and just feel 30 offers a tad more protection when temps rise over the 20 , but well see how it works out.

I use Amazon 'subscribe and save' so they automatically ship it to me once a quarter. Using subscribe and save also gets you a discount as well. The discount gets larger when you subscribe and save other items as well, which we do.

This. If you subscribe to just this you get them for around $7.50 per quart. I still keep an eye on it though, as I scored some for $35 per case or so. I bought 4 cases.

I've put almost 70,000 miles on mine in 3 years. And I just Buy the 0W40 oil advance auto has. No problems yet. And it's the same oil my dealership uses. Stop wasting time looking for the unicorns. Lol.

My dealer uses the PUP. I've watched them. I tried to buy the oil and filter through their parts dept, and it was going to be $82. It was $89 for the oil change, so I pocketed a cool $7 dollars and did it at home.

Just kidding, I had the dealer do it.

Castrol Edge 0w40 at Walmart for $26 for 5 quarts. It's made in Belgium and is a true Group4/5 synthetic. I've put 500 miles on since I changed it to this stuff and the engine is quiet and happy. From what I can tell from wasting A LOT of time over at Bob is the oil guy, it's got a little less moly, but doesn't shear like PUP.

SUBVERT THE DOMINANT MARKETING PARADIGM! :)
