2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi. Purchased December 2011 with 57,012 miles.

After getting it home I changed the oil and started to enjoy my new truck. It was the replacement for my 2001 Jeep Wrangler.

Put a 2.5" leveling kit in and 18" Moto Metal wheels and 305 BFG A/Ts. Also installed some bushwacker flares and later had them paint matched. Had a buddy tint the fronts and rear window.

After all of this I installed new rotors and pads at all four corners. While installing the brakes I noticed the upper ball joints were shot.

Sooooo.....onto the big investment. The front end.

I ended up doing upper and lower MOOG ball joints, the 08-up steering linkage with new tie rods, and the bigger steering gear. While all this was installed I did new wheel bearings, and front axle u-joints.

After dealing with all this crap the rear calipers seized up on me and warped my rotors. Installed new rear calipers and turned the rotors.

Then the exhaust manifold gaskets started to leak. Had those replaced at a shop with new studs. After they did that two O2 sensors failed which I replaced and then the drivers side cat went bad. At that point I had a custom exhaust made with two new cats of the head pipes into a 2-1 muffler with the stock 3" tailpipe and a Magnaflow 4" tip.

Today I swapped differential fluid and installed a front and rear Mag-Hytec covers.

I also forgot to mention I installed a Superchips Cortex, Airraid intake, some Stinger roadkill, and a pretty sweet sound system.

A picture as it sits today after digging it out of the fresh snow.

May I ask what that set you back? How do you like the onroad ride? How does it behave while towing a heavy load? What does it flex like off road, trail riding?

I'm really considering selling the Power Wagon winch mount I have and installing a 20" led light bar in between the tow hooks. I haven't needed a winch on this truck yet and don't foresee needing one. If anything a winch on the trailer would be a better investment.

I also have a buddy that offered me his stock rear bumper for $150 since mine is pitted and rusting. Hopefully I can get it on the truck next week.

You could pretty much add it all up on 8lugtruckgear.com

Back Country 2.0 3in, with full rear leaf springs, high and low mount stabilizers, diff cover, torsion sway bar, control arms.

Not as impressed with with the on road ride as I thought I would be. It aint bad just not great. Pretty close to stock IMO.

Off road at speed is where it gets really nice. The flex of the full rear leafs is awesome! Front flex is pretty damn great as well.

I just hooked up a 30x8.5 empty enclosed trailer to the hitch and it squatted a little bit but not too much.

Damn. I was hoping on road ride would be much better since this is a tow rig and serves DD duty once and great while. 95% on road.

Looks like its time for a winch! :)

This Power Wagon winch mount is For Sale! Going to mount up a 20" Rigid LED light bar instead of this. Going to be getting another Jeep and the truck is going to stay a street queen.

Looking to get $200 + shipping for this.
