I'm not sure what to call it but in my 02 I don't have the dual zone heat system or the heated seats so I have the large opening for my cubbyhole. I'd like know where I can find the insert or whatever it may be where I can make that opening smaller so I can use that space for installing heated seat switches.

How many do you have? I'm my truck I have a total of 6 holes. The 5 regular holes for 2wd and a single din head unit. You can get a cover for them. But insert I'm not too sure if you can get one

Well I only have 1 storage area on the dash really. I have the radio oval, then I have the HVAC controls area, and then below that I have a large oval storage area. This is the place where some of you have your 4x4 switch or heated seats switches. Mine is just open for storage. Id like to find a cover or an insert to make it look like others trucks so I can put some heated seat switches in there. I'll find a picture of that area later.

here is a link to another thread in this forum. The Original Poster has a picture of his dash, click on that and you will see the area I'm talking about. I want my lower section to have that plate where he has his 4x4 switch and heated seats switches.

If your any good at cutting metal you could cut a piece of steel or aluminum that would fit it there with whatever switches you want.

Well stock its either the cubby or that switch panel, which is set up for the options that are there. I'd cut a piece of metal and install my own switches for my accessories if it were me. And i would make the panel easily removable with velcro so I could still put small items in the cubby and no one would know. Like a spare key and an emergency can of dip if it were mine.

I have the part number for the 4x4 one. It's 56045624AB. Not sure what the one would be for a 2x4.

Thank you. I checked out that part. Looks good and not expensive at all. Now I"m wondering if I can hook up an aftermarket Heated seat kit to the stock heated seat switches.

thanks again

you can get a 12" x 12" sheet of ABS textured plastic from most stereo shops, for a few bucks. The you can cut to fit, making your own panel. I used to use this stuff (albeit I bought 4' x 8' sheets) when I was doing custom mobile audio/video installations..)

LOL I still do, too, but I buy the small pieces.. Little odds and ends, making stuff like the OP is looking for, or whatever.. It's so versatile.

I was an MECP Certified Master Installer, about 10 yrs ago.

no chit? I was MECP about 13 yrs or so ago. Only kept it for 2 years though. Doesnt pay for much unless you are big into it and get some sponsors to back you up.
