Anything bigger than the 5.7 hemi?

Heard a guy talking at the local coffee shop about his new ram. I think its a longhorn and he told me it has a bigger hemi than a 5.7. I didn't think you could get the 6.4 thats in the challenger, in a pickup. I went on the website and didn't see anything other than the 5.7L available for the truck. Just wondered if anyone had ever heard of the 6.4 in a truck or if this guy just doesn't know what he is talking about. If its not available it would be cool though.

Unless he did a swap, but I would bet that if he did that he'd know the damn size of the motor... Sound like a "That skinny pedal makes'er go" types.

^Yep, alot of people seem to get mixed up also on the power outputs. 03-08 rams 345 to the crank, 09-12 rams 390 to the crank but are both still 5.7s. General public think more HP equals bigger displacement but not the case on the new motors with the VVT system.

Is it a 1500 longhorn or a 2500 or 3500 longhorn? 1500, biggest is the 5.7. 2500 or 3500 he could have the 6.7 cummins

SRT10 ram does have the viper motor. Or do you mean the 2nd gen v10?

Thats what I thought. It is just a 1500, it would be cool to have the challenger motor in an r/t though.

The challenger motor has less HP and does not use the rams intake which is variable between long runner and short runner to increase the torque. Unless you mean the 6.4 which does have it.

SRT10 ram does have the viper motor. Or do you mean the 2nd gen v10?

Yeah, the 2nd gen Rams with the cast iron V10 like I had in my 2000 2500. Lots of those guys still think they have Viper motors in their trucks. :naughty:

The 2013 5.7 was upped to 395HP. Maybe that's what he meant?
