I have had this same problem the last time I drove my truck. It wouldn't work, then it did, back and forth during a trip. It was still working when I parked it. If I take it to the dealer I'm sure the answer will be "we can't duplicate the problem". Other people have had this issue too. There are threads about it on this site if you do a search.

I had this issue as well, and as others have said, not reproducible so getting a dealer to fix it will be tough.

Right now, mine has been working fine for the past 6 months, but had issue for the first 12 months. One day, I just mashed down on the button as hard as I could. Not sure if that is why it is now working, but it is.

Hey Missouriboy (and everyone else!), I did find a STAR case for the cruise control working intermittently. It does rely on stored DTCs, so I'm not sure if anyone has worked with a dealership yet and had any of those, but the case may help with the concern--the case number is S1508000480, and a lot of it revolved around checking voltages.

I do love this about the forum, that someone from RAM actually pays attention!

Thanks Kori

Happened on mine once. They replaced the switch on the steering wheel, no issues since.

This happened to my 2015 bighorn. Havent even had the truck 2 months lol. I have video of the issue because I know it wont do it when I take it to the dealer. I have to call and get an appointment to come in so they can look at it. But I have read on other forums the fix is to replace the steering wheel switch. Seems simple enough and should be warranty work. I will let you know how my visit to the dealer goes.

Update: I also experienced my steering wheel radio controls not working and the volume knob on the dash radio unit not working as well. The radio was on but there was no volume and no acknowledgement on the dash unit when I pushed the steering wheel buttons. I had to press the media button then the AM/FM button on the dash unit to get the sound to come on.
Anyway I reported this issue as well so they could investigate when it went in for service. I got my truck back from the dealer yesterday and they performed 1.) a software flash to my PCM and 2.) a software flash to my RFH (per manufacturer). They said this fixed the issues I was having and everything worked good. I have only had the truck back one day so far but the cruise is working and the radio controls work "knock on wood" These software flashes were also covered in full under warranty. I was told as long as the truck is under the bumper to bumper warranty they are covered.
When I get home I can post the stored codes that were in my computer if you guys would like to know what they were. Good luck to those of you with the same issue

I also have this issue and by pushing the up gear button then engaging cruise control it works. After that it will work consistently turning it on and off. Makes me think it won't work unless the trans is in a higher gear than is typical at 40 mph.

I just had this issue, the dealer corrected it by replacing the clock spring, wiring harness, and a software upgrade. My best advice is to pm ram cares, which is what I did. Ram has the best customer care service!

Mine started acting up shortly after buying it. However, instead of taking it to the dealer I gave it a sharp hit with my the palm of my hand about three times. Hasn't done it since I use the cruise control daily.

This seems to be a common issue. I have downloaded and installed 2 uConnect updates since buying my truck and I don't recall having a single instance of this issue prior to installing the first update. The second didn't do anything to correct it. I don't have to bang on anything and it never just doesn't work period - I just usually have to push the button several times to get it to kick on.
