Have any of you raced one or know which one it faster?...If so, how much faster. I have seen 1/4 mile videos of both trucks and they look about the same but i see the fords pulling faster times by .2-.3 sec. But on the street it is always different. I want to hear real world conclusions, Is the ford lighter or something?

If the Dodge is ---

* HEMI
* RCSB
* 3.92 gear
* Intake
* Exhaust
* Tuned

If the ford is ---

* 5.0
* RCSB
* 3.55 gear
* Intake
* Exhaust
* Tune

By horse power #'s and rear gear the Ram should stomp it...

yes. Ram wins the battle of Hemi vs. 5.0 in that configuration, especially if the ram is an 8 speed. The only time F150 beats ram is with the Ecoboost motor or 6.2L in some configurations

Seen a 2011 rcsb express race a 5.0 rcsb 4x4 f150(not sure on yr) the express just had a intake An 18" maggy w/ 3.55s an waxed the f150. Don't really remember the times but the 5.0 was stout, of coarse he made excuses why he lost lol

when I was looking at trucks I drove my truck ( see sig ) on a test drive and got down on it and it scared me a little. Granted I was comparing it to a Nissan Frontier V6, biggest thing I've owned at the time..... I test drove a F150 with Eco ( aren't they a V6? ) and the sales guy was talking it up and I knew it was a joke.... This RAM kicks ass

Don't knock the Ecoboost dude. LOL. They are not a joke. My wife's F150 Platinum will spank my Ram stock vs stock. Even with tuner, intake, muffler, cold TS, Catch Can, etc she still can probably beat mine off the line and it's still pretty close running down the road. And we both have 3.55s so thats not it. They are stout for sure. But, I still like my Ram alot more than her Ford. They aren't even close when it comes to driving. The interior on my Longhorn smokes hers. The 5.0s are not as fast as the EB. Not the ones I've driven anyways.

All the F-150 6 speed autos have a 4.17:1 first and a 2.34:1 second. The Ram 6 speed is a 3.0:1 first and a 1.67:1 second. --- this is the reason the f-150 is quicker.
An A8 (4.71 first, 3.14 second) Hemi with 3.92s..... Ha Ha! I can't wait!

x2

Ecoboost are quick and with a tune. They are putting down some good numbers.

Right not though they are having some problems.

x2 on the mash the pedal lol. This is not autocross, and without a manual there is nothing else to do. These trucks would be way faster with a manual I think, although the A8 should help with that.

after I purchased my 2010 ram I tested a HD edition 150 Im not sure of the year but that thing was a snail compared to the ram. I heard the Raptors can stomp the Ram tho, I guy I worked with said someone in a hemi tried racing him and that guy lost.

Well if it was a 2010 F-150 is should have the 5.4-liter. No slouch, but weak compared to the HEMI.

found dyno results of the f150 ecoboost. They are getting more rwhp stock than we are. Looks like it doesnt take much to get more out of them.

I told you, I researched them hard before I bought my RAM. My neighbor has a 2011 5.0 and it really swayed me into looking at F-150s. Then I read up on the Ecoboost, stout motor but didnt know if I wanted another FI V6. Nothing wrong with them (see sig,lol). I just wanted that V8 Rumble..

One question. If the EcoBoost is such a stout motor, why is it not offered on any of the super duty trucks?
This makes me wander if even Ford doesn't have confidence in the durability of this engine if put to serious use.

It was supposedly put through a torture before it was put in a singe car/truck

Do you know how much a SD truck weighs though? It would be a slug pulling all that weight around. Let alone you wouldn't be able to tow much..

Now if it was a TT V8. That would be a different story.

I want to agree with this but the Hemi is in both the 1500 and the HD 2500. I have also heard a lot of 2500 owners liking the Hemi and saying the power is fine. That being said I am wondering why isn't the Ecoboost in the Ford Superduties like it is in the F150.

touche, it might have to do with mpg requirements.

I thought I read rumors of a 5.0L EB not too long ago.
