I'm trying to figure out if the sport model 4x4 1500 trucks come with a lower front suspension from factory. I've installed the bilstein 5100's and it just doesn't appear as high as others. It may be because I put shocks in the rear as well to keep the rake for towing and its throwing me off. I don't want to order new tires based on others if my truck indeed sits lower. Any help is much appreciated!

No they do not. The amount of rake a truck has from the factory can vary from 2" to as much as almost 3" - it's not the same for every truck across the board. If you put something on the back to keep the rake, seems like that may be part of the issue there. If you remove that I think you will find your truck would sit pretty level.

You can always buy air bags for the back for towing. They cost about $100, and then you'd have no rake when towing.

Thanks for the response. That was my gut feeling but started to think I missed something somewhere.

Did you measure your front fender height before you put in the Bilsteins? That would tell us how much lift they gave you

Of course I didn't measure it first, why would I do that it would make sense. Layed the tape measure out there and never measured it. I think it lifted it more than I thought, but having two 3/4 tons t the station just still makes it look so low.

Think I'm gonna stop by the local dealer tomorow and measure a few trucks so I can compare. I also need to check and make sure the shop didnt change the setting on the shocks, they had to tighten the nut on top of the shocks cause I ran out of time and couldn't go back and recheck myself.

SOB, sure enough the shop that aligned my truck and tightened the one nut thought the shocks needed to be set back to factory like setting. So I get to continue the argument on Monday. I was about to lose my freakin mind though, thanks for the help.
