Alright so I'm installing a RCX 6 inch kit and I'm down to the rear, what I'm having trouble with is the rear shocks. I can't take the top bolts out of them due to the gas tank being in the way of getting any kind of tools back there.

I tried using a impact, but all it does is spin the bolt. Maybe I need a stronger impact?

If you have any suggestions let me know!

I drilled a 2" hole in the wheel liner so I could use my impact on the bolt, then I crawled under the truck and got a wrench on the nut and had my wife run the impact.
Was a real pain in the ass for sure.

Buy a cheap wrench, take the box end and about 1.5" of the handle; cut everything else off. Slip it onto the nut and you're good to go.

Yes, something along those lines. Me personally, I went to Harbor Freight and bought a crescent wrench and cut the handle down to just a couple few inches. Use the crescent wrench on one side of the bolt, and ratchet on the other. I don't own any power tools :(

I just took an old wrench put it in a vice, hit it with a torch and bent it 90 degrees. worked great.

Aren't you suppose to remove the wheel liner?

Can you post pics after the install? Also did you do this by yourself? How long did it take to do the front?

Well I was able to get a breaker bar on the back bolts and got them both out. I would take some pictures for you but I already have everything together.

And you really need at least 2 people to help. I had a couple of my friends help me out. I spent at least 20 hours installing the whole kit lol. Of course ratcheting wrenches would have saved me tons of time.

Stubby wrenches are your friend, or you can cut one down like the other guys.

I know you have already completed the job, but for anyone else who is going to do it, take the wheel well liner out and use a 13/16 stubby on the inboard side. It's actually pretty easy. The stubby I bought from Amazon for a few bucks

And a pic of the install:

I mean, post pics of your truck after the lift is installed. Always nice to see a job well done.
I take it you never used an impact gun?

I guess if it bothers me a 2" plug would fix it but its not like its something you really notice anyway its not like I drilled holes in the bedside...lol , took me less then 20mins (maybe less) to change out both shocks not having to pull the liner out.
I also did not pull off the rear tires when I changed the shocks or my coil springs did it all at the same time...lol

Plus if I want to change or pull them off later it will be easier.
