Just curious if anyone noticed a difference in gas mileage after installing a leveling kit. I recently installed a 2 inch level kit on my 2011 Ram 1500 and it seems as if my mileage has gotten worse. I'm thinking possibly the change in aerodynamics? Anyone else?

Thanks

With any kind of lift it will definitely get worse. Leveling it out makes the it become like a wall to the wind, and then lifting it up just makes that wall bigger. Lol.

If you're going to put off road tires on it too, get ready for another gas hit.

That's pretty common! They drop the front down to help push the air down below the suspension and frame. Now with it leveled, it hits the undercarriage and causes drag.

These days I'm getting 12 city 14.5 highway easy driving bone stock. 5.7... 3.92. What are people getting with a two inch level kit? If I'd known the gas milage was going to be this bad I would have looked at a 2500... They can't being doing much worse than me

Just got home from a hospital visit in Toronto. About 3 hours total drive time. Including the stop and go city driving in TO, expressway driving between 70 and 80 mph, a stop downtown Guelph to pickup furniture and home. Averaged 17.1 mpg US with a 2" lift in the front, 4 people. I always buy the cheapest gas I can find. 2012 Long Horn with 3:55s.

Sorry, I went out to check the truck and it was actually 17.4. I tend to drive smooth and steady and actually only floored it once all day merging into heavy traffic.

I was averaging ~15.6 with a 2.5" leveling spacer...now with a 35x1250 I'm averaging 14.6.

I'm averaging the same as Soundwave with a 2" HBS level and stock tires.

I've got the 3.92 gears. I don't think there was any difference when I leveled it really. The bigger tires is what killed my MPGs. It's all about how you drive too. My wife always dropped into the lower 15s while going to work and I always was able to hit 15.5-15.6 consistently once I was done on my days off. So maybe I was getting better too without my wife driving lol. Hitting ECO mode after bigger tires is really an achievement though.

I've never calculated my mpg's but it sure as heck doesn't go into eco mode as easily as before.

I was thinking that a 34" tire may help a little on the highway. my truck spends very little time in eco mode anyway. I'm sure a 35 is a whole different story though.
