I have a 2012 hemi 1500 crew cab 2wd and am shopping for lifts. I found the CST 7" and wanted to know if anyone has this lift on their Ram and what they think of it. I know there's other manufactures out there like Rough Country and I just wanna know what's the best bang for the buck.

The CST lift is great quality. With a 4x2, your options are limited. Basically you can go with the CST lift or add a leveling kit (or adjustable coilover shocks) and/or a body lift.

Would you recommend the CST or Blistein or ProComp shocks?

CST is probably the highest quality out of the 3 as far as I know but they will run you a little more. I'm not too familiar with the bilsteins, as far as other people are saying on other forums though the pro comp shocks are still high quality and much better than the stock shocks

Bilstein does not have a shock application for the 2012 4x2 with the CST 7'' lift. You will have to go with CST's shock or one of the procomp models. I'm looking into this kit as well. I found the kit, the wheels and the tires, now I just need to find the $$$$!

You can run shocks for a 2500 to get the extra travel and save a ton of cash versus buying the cst brand shocks . That's what I did with my spacer. Next step for me is the cst 4" spindles and I'll have my 9" total with my 3" body lift

Dat Cummins!
The CST lift and shocks are gonna be the best bang-for-buck on your 2wd application. They have a really good product! If you had a 4wd I would recommend the Bilsteins, but the CST shocks are very well made!

not trying to be rude but i'm very curious....besides looks on the lift....is there any reason why you got a 2wd then decided on the lift?

The same reason most people get a 4wd and lift it.

Also, I believe the CST lift for 2wd's uses OEM length shocks. So you can use any OEM replacement.

You could just use the 4" spindle from CST and their rear springs that lift the back 2.25" (I think...maybe 1.5" I forget) and be nearly level and also be able to run 35" tires...to me the 7" kit seems a bit much...

You are correct, the CST's and all our 2WD lifts use the stock length shocks, so there are a lot of choices, from stock, to performance, as long as they are stock length for a Ram

My truck is in the shop right now getting the CST 7'' Kit installed. I'll post up in this thread when it's done. I went with a 20x9 wheel 4.53bs and -12mm offset.

Is it a bit much?
I'm 6'5'' and think this lift will fit me perfect..lol!!

Stay tuned.

A 9 inch wheel with 4.5 inches of BS seems to be the most common spec for the fourth generation Rams.
I can't wait to see some pics!
