Has anyone tried adjusting the pre-load on the Fox coilovers to get more than 2 inches of lift? I just picked up a 4x4 Ram and want to add ~4 inches up front.

Another thought would be to get Bils set at 2.8 and run a 1.5" leveling kit. I've had Bils set on the top perch on other trucks I've owned with a small leveling kit.

I asked the guys at Fox about setting it higher tan 2" and they said you can't. Not sure if that means that you shouldn't or you can't.

Here's the info that I had from my recent install with a few picks…

Now I see why they told you that. Most coilovers have two collars with one acting as a lock nut. Those can be adjusted on the vehicle. These 2.0 coilovers only have one collar. In order to adjust them, they have to be off the truck with the springs compressed.

A buddy of mine has the 2.5 Fox with the external resi, and he has to take his off to adjust because it has one collar. I also found this on a Ford forum:

It doesn't even look like there is room to get spring compressors hooked on. I should just go for the gold and get some King's...

If you want 4" of lift you need to buy a 4" lift kit. It's as simple as that. You can't push 4" out of only coilovers as your front end CV shaft and A-arm angles will be ridiculous and not useful at all. Without going to a full lift kit the max you can run is Bilsteins at 2.8". No higher. No you can't put a leveling kit on top of Bilsteins.
