When I get home from working up in ND I plan on giving myself a present of a 6" rcx kit. I already have the level kit from them and a 3" bodylift.

1) How much front and back will I actually gain? I'm wanting to be able to figure out where Ill be setting. I have 35x12.50x20 toyo mts and I honestly think it can pull off the 9" of lift because of my fender flares taking a bit of fender gap away.
I know the rcx kit is supposed to level it but I do like ever so slight rake.

2) I am considering switch to a 36" tire on an 18" rim or a 37" tire on a 17" rim. I'm thinking about going with the smaller rim for bigger tires to take away some of the outward mass that axle has to turn. I know the huge tires wont help but...I also like the more offroad oriented look.
Are the 2012 axles just impossible to change the gearing in because of whatever is welded in the front? or is there a possibility of somewhere down the line kits being available? Or will it be a bite the bullet situation and find a front axle from an earlier year. < I dont really wanna mess with re gearing. ITs just preparing myself for things to come.

Thanks guys!

You might want to get more info on the 17" rims. Idk if they're gonna clear the brake caliper or not. I'd honestly go with 37's on 18" rims if you're going 9"+ of lift. I have the same height set up on mine and wish I had tried to fit 40" tires but I'm currently running 37" toyos on 20" rims

And as for gearing, you have to swap out the axle. I'm planning on doing this this summer

I had seen triangle man had 17s which is what put the idea in my head.

So you have a 2012 with 3.55 gears on 37s? How does that drive and hows your mileage?

I didnt know if the axle change was because there is'nt anything available yet to get around it. OR if that s#its permanent lol.

From what I have read the 2012 will require an axle swap to a 09-11 front axle in order to perform a gear swap. Your rear axle will accept the stock 4.10 gears from an R/T. If you want a higher ratio your rear carrier needs to be modified to accept a third party gear set.

Looks like ill be sitting with 3.55s. Im happy with its performance on 35s and hopefully by next year I will have a diesel on 40" lol
and have this one as my commuter and a huge redonkulous diesel to drive around the house.

Now to just see what I'll gain with the 6" lift

the rough country wont perfectly level you. i prolly have 1.5" of rake or so... if you want i can go measure the difference... and yeah im going with 36s on 18 like you said!

If you could measure to see how much you actually gained front and back that would be great!!! I cant wait to see yours on that setup though. Gonna look beastly

Yea I have the 3.55 ratio with 37's and my gas mileage is beyond embarrassing lol I get like 9 in the city but my highway is like 13-14. I can get up and go now with all my bolt ons and tuner but its still lacking. Just trying to decide between 4.56 or 4.88 bc I wanna go to 40" tires next and all my driving is basically in the city

Owww 4.88! Lol god to be your age with that truck. Haha
Sad that i have to keep mine street friendly.
Im gonna see how omahas truck pulls those 36" tires
And just run my 35s till they need replaced. I think the 9" on 35s wont be that offensive

When I installed my 6" RCX, I gained a full 6" in the front. That was measured after the alignment and everything settled. The RCX rear coils are 4.5" longer than stock and I did gain 4.5" rear lift. Hope that helps!

got those 36s on and with 3.92s it pulls fine. I don't notice much of a difference at all. just a hair sluggish gettin out of the hole but once your moving its still got plenty of power! I think you'd be fine with 3.55s

Great news. I appreciate the update. I'll look for some pics.
I've been on the fence about trading it in for a Duramax or Cummins. IF it doesnt pan out I'll be going your route!
