I'm a believer that all trucks should have tow hooks because they are mean to work. 2wd or 4wd they should have them. I bought a 2016 Express last summer and after some research thanks you you good people here I decided to buy the oem tow hooks. I was going to buy new ones but the other day a local guy on bookface was selling some and I got them for $100 shipped from Maine to NH. After the April Fools snow we got yesterday it was 55°+ today so I put them in. Next is new wheels and tires to ditch the stock 17s.

I agree about the tow hooks, I really want a light bar but I like my tow hooks to much.

I'm glad you showed this photo as silly me I thought the tow hooks faced the other direction. This is probably why I don't do a lot of the work on my Ram lol.

Yeah another thing on my list that should come from the factory already installed.

I want to put an LED lightbar up on the top of the bumper.

DRkNESS the hooks are actually on backwards. The fit either way. The hook faces out from the factory but because the Express/sport bumpers are shaped differently I personally feel like they fit better this way. If I had put them in the other way the curve of the hook will always be touching the bumper lip and will scratch the paint constantly. This way I can still slip a strap loop on them and the hook itself is not touching anything at all. The hooks will also hold a strap better pulling left with the left hook or right wth the right hook with out fear of it slipping off.

Crazykid1994 yes I had to cut the holes in the bumper insert.

Op no way was I bashing you, it's just if I had installed them I would have sadly put them the opposite way. :(

No worries, never thought that. Just finished explaining my reasoning to my friend who was giving me a hard time about it so I figured I'd explain myself before anyone else asked. They are really easy to install and I fit them both ways loosely a few times before deciding to keep them this way.

The only real issue I could see doing them turned in is you can't wrap the rope or cable around it like a reel but I doubt people do that much anyway. No wrong way to do it really.

You are right to a degree. A thick rope or a chain cannot be hooked on the loop but a chain or hook could still be looped through the hook. Though a chain will undoubtedly scratch these bumpers regardless of the hook orientation.

However I keep a strap in my truck with factory sewn loops on each end. It slides on to the hook perfectly and will not slide off if being pulled left from the left hook or right from the right hook.

If the hooks were the opposite orientation then the strap would have to be pulled left from the right hook and right from the left hook or else anything looped on the hook would slide off.
