My 15 Ram CC Bighorn V6 keeps saying my passenger side brake light is out on the dashboard display when I start it up. It shows a picture of the rear of the truck with the right passenger light out. I've checked multiple times and it isn't out. Anyone else ever have this issue? Should I pull the battery cable to reset the system?

Thanks!

Did you check the 3rd brake light also, I think if I remember right it says passenger side but really is the 3rd brake light.

Definitely check the third brake light. I just had this happen a few months ago and it ended up being the third brake light.

As long as you are positive you dont have any LED bulbs then I would guess the 3rd brake light as well!

..I have a Laramie with the Factory LED and projectors, but I swapped my tail lights out with blacked out Aftermarket LED tail lights and they work great and give me no problems at all, except for every once in awhile when I run through the car wash it will tell me my right rear turn signal is out but the minute I pull out and get out of the wash it goes right back to normal! Point being LEDs do some weird stuff!

Hi Rambo182,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.

110% third brake light. I had this on my 16 a month ago. Easy fix. Replaced with an LED bulb... Should never replace again.

Only thing I need to do is LED front end lights... Soooo terrible of MaMopar to do LED tails, and markers, but halogen headlights in a projector housing like its 1985. Its pathetic. Guess you don't get much for $60k these days... Well unless you buy from another manufacturer.

Thanks for the responses so far. Ya'll were right, it was the 3rd brake light. I bought a 921 lightbulb (led wasn't in stock) and replaced it last night. I tested it and all was good. This morning, it is burnt out again! Do I need to replace the whole connector? It did have some burn marks on it from the previous bulb.

Same here 3rd brake light. My truck is 2 months old and I had to bend the tabs that hold the bulb but seems to be working fine now.

This is my first time replying, but I definitely would like to thank everyone that replies to the forums. Your InSite on issues with the Ram trucks have been very helpful. I had the same issue with the brake light message and it was the third brake light bulb. I went through a car wash then all of a sudden I started having the issue with the warning message. It is pretty sad with the technology out that that Ram (FCA) couldn't have come out with a system that would indicate the actual light bulb that is the issue. Another program by the manufacturer to make you go back to the dealer and pay an astronomical bill to diagnose a simple issue that shouldn't cost more that $10 to fix including the part.

It is getting really bad that the dealerships want to charge you for every little thing. What happen to the days of customer service when the dealer would do these minor items to get you to keep coming back for the big jobs.

I recently had an issue with a tpms sensor that was working fine when I went into the dealer for some service and body work, but when I got the vehicle back and drove about 5 miles down the road it started getting the error message about that same tire that they changed the rim because of some cosmetic damage. I contacted the dealership immediately once I got the error message and was told to keep and eye on it. It was really erratic as the message and light would go away one day and be back like 2 days later. I finally started staying on all the time. I took it back into the dealership and at first I was told they would cover the sensor. Now I get a phone saying they made a mistake and want to charge me $240 for a problem they made. They offered to cut the price in half or they wanted me to bring my vehicle 80 miles and put the old sensor back into the tire.
