Has anyone installed a light bar in the front bumper.

Of a Ram 1500 BigHorn, with the crazy chrome bumper and NO tow hooks ? Have this itch and want to add that to my scratch it list if possible. :)

Thought I have seen one done. Not sure if it was on here or driving around

A single row bar (I've personally been looking at the RC 70720) or 2 smaller 2 row bars where the tow hooks go. I'm sure you could figure a way toount a 40" 2 row, but it's either gonna stick out pretty good, or your gonna have to bend/cut some metal. I've seen a couple guys on here mount them on top of, or below the bumper. I don't personally care for that option. Good luck, let us know what uou end up doing

They make thin ones. I know I've seen it done on a few 2500s around town.

If you're looking at single row bars, give the new Diode Dynamics Stage Series a look.

Simple slim single row does the trick. I've been trying to figure out how to get one on my truck. I hate this bumper.

I have been looking at this too, seems like a mess grill and placing them behind it is the only option ?

Guess a bull bar would work, but I like my parking sensors ??

I've honestly been considering cutting the chrome section between the tow hooks. I've also thought about cutting the horizontal crossbars and installing slim single row lights. Replacing a jacked up grill is cheaper than a jacked up bumper.

If you have the means to cut it cleanly and precisely, I think that cutting out an opening just the size of the bar's bezel and flush mounting it would look great. Of course it won't be perfectly flush all the way around because the bumper has a curve to it, but I think it would be OK.

yea the bumper in the front is brutal , putting a finish on the cut edges?
seems like it would be problematic

I agree, I would rather take may chances with the grill

Therein lies the problem. My means are a steady hand and a dremel. Not sure I trust myself. Used to have a buddy with a laser jet cutter but he's not in the business anymore.

I'm not worried about a finished edge. I'd just mask everything off and spray it with some chrome spray. I'm just worried about getting clean cuts.

Yea , I suck at cutting , guess a jig saw would be the most accurate,
I side grinder would be tough to get a hard line

My other thought is buy a bull bar and then relocate the affected parking sensor onto the bull bar. I really like the westin contour 3.5

I never checked if there is enough rope on the sensors to move them onto a bull bar,

That would be the way to go

I just bought 2 8 inch opt-7 c2 LED light bars and plan on cutting the plastic out where the tow hook space is. The gap is 10 inches so the lights with the brackets should fill the space nicely. Since my truck is 2wd they are going to primarily be for looks but I'll hook them up to function whenever I might need them. ( Mostly to show off to my buddies) I'll post pics as soon as they come and I get them installed. For the price of these bars, I couldn't help but buy them. I can't see a better spot to place a bar or bars then right here : /

You're probably better off getting a sport or Laramie bumper.

Cutting all that metal for a little light bar seems like too much work. lol
