So, guys, let's talk about the bull bars first. The importance of a bull bar depends on the type of trips you often take. Actually, bull bars have little to do with bulls but they have a lot to do with other animals, specifically deer.
MAX Winch Mount System with 3" Bull Bar by Westin is manufactured to enhance your safety and minimize the damage your Dodge Ram 2014 may suffer.
Plus, it also may be useful, if you do not want your new bumper to be scratched while parking.

Black options are also available, check them on the web site.

* mounts directly to vehicle frame;
* accommodates most major brand winches with a rated line pull of up to 16,500 lbs;

If more protection is what you are looking for, then you have to check out this grille guard:

* 2" tube, full wrap around wings;
* heavy duty rubber upright strips for pushing;
* made in mild steel with black powder coat finish and polished stainless steel for style and longevity;
* comes with a lifetime warranty;

Which option is the best for you?

From my experience living in South Georgia with a high population of deer, neither of those options tend to stand up to hitting a deer at any decent speed. Most guys around here run the full bumper replacement grille guards. They'll plow through a deer without a scratch.

However, grille guards are good for driving through brush and stuff.

Never really seen much use for a bull bar other than aesthetics.

How does the bull bar bolt up to the front ram 2500? Does it replace the toe hooks? Got any pics?

My experience with a bull on my 09 & 11, it was a good place to mount off road lights, and a even better parking indicator for others to use when parking in front of you. I'll bet I had to adjust my off road lights 20 times over a three year period, and eventually they broke the rock gards on my KC's

Bull bars stick out, and are below the line of sight of other trucks parking in front of you, they don't see it, and bump into it. It got to the point that I parked nose out to avoid further damages.

I wouldn't mind a black bull bar with a 20" LED light bar. But from everything I read they just pivot up into the grill and cause more damage when u hit something.

Only real positive is the light mounting and the ability for Ppl to hit that and not the bumper while parking.

The bull bars still provide a good protection for your bumper with a skid plate when you go offroad, and of course they are able to withstand some mild hits in traffic or dings on a parking lot. If you are looking for some better protection for the entire front end of your truck, you definitely want to consider grille guards with brush guards. They are much heavier and more impact resistant.

Website has some pretty interesting items....just purchased some led brake lights for my 2012 ram

Can't wait to get them. Those halo smoked ccfl halo projector headlights on the Web also looks promising.

My only problem with bull bars is that they are not strong...meaning besides adding lights, you cant strap on a winch if needed...plus you need to cut out some of the air dam below.

I cant do it. I like the stock grill look better. its cheaper for me to pay the ins. deductible than a guard. besides , I have 2 front mount receivers bolted on already,and no more room.:) I am almost ready to junk the winch cradle for an xrc black box. they look bad ass.

If those prices are 50% off, I'll stick with Ebay and my $90 Bull Bar. Its the same as Westin, Aries, etc etc.. You cannot say they are not cause every company uses the same instructions. I know cause I looked
