We've had a pretty harsh winter so far here in St. Louis. Over 2 feet of snow and the plows have been running nonstop. Hand washed my truck for the first time in a few weeks today and JESUS look at all this fallout. It's EVERYWHERE!! I'm super OCD about a clean truck and this **** just ****** my off. Anyone have a secret for easy prevention/removal? I love white, but this is just ridiculous. I guess it's time to get out the clay bar and wax again =(

That sucks man. Thats why almost my entire truck is line x. Literally spray it off, spray tire shin on and wipe it clean. Done.

Black line x doesn't need anything but a pressure washer. Ever.

All Adams products:
Adam's Car Wash Shampoo-
Detailing spray and claybar -
Patriot wax and I'm done.
After that I just keep my eye on it and wash it once a week with Adam's Waterless Car Wash unless its really bad.
And my paint job is brand new so I'm trying to keep it in good shape.

Yup, have the same issue with mine.
I spent a weekend cleaning it off and re-sealing/waxing it.

The only cure I know of is to not care. Which isn't an option for me.

While a clay bar will remove the rust spots, it will not remove the iron that is embedded in your clear coat. You need to use iron-x or a similar product to chemically remove the contamination. After which a clay bar and a seal. It will reoccur, but not nearly as bad as you have it now. If you just clay bar the vehicle, the metal will remain to rust another day - in addition to whatever else your paint picks up down the road.

Most people are unaware that when you clay bar it only takes off the part of the contaminant that is above the surface of your clear, but leaves behind the part that has been embedded into you finish while hot.

Same with me but I get the yellow brownish spots from my tire shine.

I'm in ofallon, MO, yeah, i just hand washed mine as well, but I did clay/wax in November, still looks great, my secret is my local mobil on the run, touchless carwash, heated dryers, undercarriage sprayer, etc, I have a membership, probably ran it through 12 times during the last month.

This snow does take it's toll, i'm ready for spring already lol!

I have a 2014 White Sport Quad Cab and was wondering about the little rust spots, I was told it was rail dust from transport and if I had it clay bared it would take care of it. I will have to look into this more because the spots drive me nuts. I might have to see if anyone local can do this because I have nowhere warm enough to do it. Thanks for the tips!
