(Thanks to CDNLaramie for the pic)
Available from: https://www.precisioncanada.com/truck/part.php?partnum=371678 (this should be the correct part for your truck.
They go on and come off easier than the factory winter front for the EcoDiesel.
Geno's garage also stocks a winter front similar to the factory one.

In winter, especially below zero, the engine won't ever get to correct operating temp, (which also means your heater isn't worth a ****). Restricting the air flow helps the engine get to temp.

Wow, never heard of that. Surprised it doesn't lead to overheating, I have to lower my plow just a bit to let more air in to cool down.

The T-stat controls the engine operating temp.Doesn't matter how cold it is if it is operating properly.

True to a point, but you'll be cycling your engine with colder than needed coolant. In essence your radiator become super-efficient so your thermostat cycles more than usual because you are pumping much colder than normal coolant through the motor. Much more wild swings in engine/tranny temps when it super cold.

Do the active grill shutters close to help with this at all?

Not sure, but i think the shutters are speed based to try to enhance mileage.
