I have this climate control on my 09-12 Ram 1500 (2012):

I want to put this digital climate control in:

Is it a simple plug n play or is more involved?

Has anyone successfully swapped these two parts? What's all involved.

It cost over $200 online so I don't want to spend that kind of money if it won't work.

It probably will plug and play but the new one is a dual zone which could cause some glitches. Or it might work fine except the second temp control is disabled which would be the best case scenario...

one has 2 plugs, the other has 3. its not plug and play.

im going to take a shot in the dark and say making it work would involve adding an hvac control module, making a conversion harness and changing the blower motor resister. even then, you would still only have single zone hvac.

Not gonna happen.... When I bought an upgraded center stack for my 2010 Challenger it came with the "Auto" climate control dials and I tried it and it isn't as easy as plug n play.

Damn that's a shame. This dial, along with my new RBZ radio would really make my interior look newer. This blows...

Sure. It's the OEM radio from 09-12 Rams, Town & Countrys, Jeeps and a ton more FCA vehicles. It's actually made by Mitsubishi... go figure, lol.

It's the RBZ model. Sirius Sat, Internal hard drive to store songs and movies, dvd player, all kinds of cool features. It's a major upgrade from the crappy base model RES radio.41eb3cb577c44d0d2daa74910300231a.jpgc1d3c748c31ce92b6a9a79ae92d3efe9.jpg25d53a698e681d5f6b468f4a2365db64.jpg

It will not swap, requires a ton of harnesses, new parts and reprogramming the truck with alfaobd to activate the dual climate but even then no guarantee it will work. Would cost a lot in parts and a ton of hours of labor.
