Went to the local guy that sells Amsoil. There saying around $85 for a oil change on my truck. Said that they would do a engine flush with Amsoil flush befor switching over to amsoil. would cost me a extra 10 bucks. Is this a good price for the oil change? They say they will do oil change for free labor just to get me to run the Amsoil.

Engine flushes are horrible ideas. No don't add a heavy solvent that will clunk any debris and deposit them into your filter, and worse the detergents some flushes use are down right harmful as they have a sand paper effect. Your amsoil will clean all by itself, and will not tarnish or sludge as easy as conventional oil. I would get the oil and do it myself the first time. Let the oil get a good drain, and then just add your amsoil and change the filter.

I looked up Amsoil flush, it has a very low flash point which leads me to believe it has a very high solvent base. really pass on this stuff. Amsoil Flush Flashed in closed cup at 275F compared to Autorx which flashes in open cup at 410F.

There is a flush that allows for a slow removal of debris, called autorx. it is very detailed, and if I was to do a flush that would be the type. It isn't done with solvent or detergents, but rather esters which are similar to what you find in synthetic oil anyway. But again, I would just make the switch with no flush, your Amsoil is awesome and will clean and lubricate by itself.

You are smart for asking before just doing it.

Never been a fan of any kind of engine flush. At the oil company I work for, we even stopped blending the stuff. Use to be they were technically nothing much but kerosine in a bottle, that was known to shrink seals and damage gaskets. Not saying the Amsoil stuff would, but if you've been using a quality engine oil and changing it like you should, you're fine without it.

Price seems about right. I paid a few bucks more for shipping on what I ordered today.

No flush necessary, just change the filter at the recommended interval.

Sounds like the oil change place you use really cares if they are giving you a deal just to run the better oil. Keep em. I totally agree on the flushes. Also on tranny flushes as well. There is no way they can get all of the solvents out. No way.
