The point of a cutout is so you can have a free flowing exhaust, adding another muffler is counter productive since most of us just run them straight to atmosphere or with a turndown.

I agree. Just put a turndown on the end. If you have to have a muffler do something like a flow super 10 or glasspack. Least restrictive as possible.

I agree no muffler on the cutout for when you want it loud And then a muffler for when the cutout is closed

No muffler! Only reason to have cutout is to be loud when you want to. If you want just a little loud just crack the cutout a little bit.

Why would you put a muffler on cutouts?

hi guys, thanks for you answers..so its just as i thought, no muffler needed...i´ll just put a turndown on the end and thats it...

my ram-dealer, who installed the qtp cutout exhaust, told me that he put a muffler on any ram, because the straight sound is faar to loud and horrible

It's always a matter of opinion. My wife hates the open cutouts but I used to drive with them open all the time.

I was curious what this was so I Googled it. Seems pretty cool! Does a QTP cutout void the manufactured warranty?

No more than changing your exhaust piping and muffler does.

OK, I wasn't sure if cutting the pipe to insert this than welding it would void it. When I put on my Carven progressive exhaust I just unbolted the factory and connected the new one.

I run my QTP w/no muffler. If I had to do it again. I would move move the stock muffler back so I could move the cutout farther back.

Has anyone ever done a cutout and connected back to the tailpipes after the muffler? It would be pretty sweet to just bypass the muffler whenever you want

That would be a good idea. It gets loud underneath the cab.

Question regarding hooking up the QTP. Where does the electrical component connect to? Do you have to splice it into another wire set or is there a factory connection? And also how do you control it?

It comes with its own switch which you'll need to mount and all it requires is a ground and a 12V power wire and has its own fuse pre-installed.

I ran the wire through the storage floor compartment then up into the console.
My switch is right below my cigarette lighter.
