I’ve got a 2011 ram 1500 5.7 hemi. Every now and then when I’m coming to a stop to turn into a parking lot or just make a turn in general, my truck will randomly shut off. It also happens when Just coming to a stop at a stop light or stop sign. Very random and no check engine lights come on or anything. Could anyone have any possibility of what it could be??

Thanks for the help

It Could be the fuel pump relay issue that ties into the TIPM. That’s a common gen 4 issue. The TIPM can be repaired, a few companies offer that exact type of repair service. Google it.

Does it start right back up w/o any problems? Might not hurt to open up the relay box and wiggle each of the relays and fuses that you can see (carefully). I don't know if you can see the fuel pump relay or not, I haven't looked on mine. If you can, maybe tap on the fuel pump relay gently with the back of a small screwdriver ..the idea being if there's a weak internal connection (like a dirty/pitted contact) you may cause the contacts to seat better. If the problem goes away, then it's possible it WAS the relay, then replace it. Wiggle other connections in the area. Most electronic issues can be traced down to problems with wire connections and cold solder joints.

Also might not hurt to inspect the wire harness. I know on mine, there's very little tape used compared to the old days. If a rodent got up there could chew a wire part way though. I've had mice chew wires before. Also like any modern vehicle, make sure the battery connections and grounds are really good.

Yeah usually once it shuts off, I’ll put it in neutral, and it starts right back up with no issues. And I have already had the aftermarket fuel pump relay system installed. I forget exactly what was wrong at the time but they did find that the fuel pump relay system was not acting right and basically added the correct one that ram said to install. I may check those connections again or even take it back to the shop since it is having some issues and it should still be under warranty!

I no remember also that the service was not part of a recall at all. It was a recall for just about every other Chrysler, or other dodge product but not for my truck which was bull crap so it came out of pocket to replace it!
