Hi everyone i am new to this site .I have a few ?? for the hemi guys. I have been driving my ram 1998 5.2 it has been a good truck i am lookin at a newer ram today. I drove a 2003 2500 with 62000 on it when i floored this truck i thought it would go pretty good but it stumbled and did not do much. My tired 98 has more pep than this hemi anything i could look at on this truck. It is very nice except for this . One more thing most of the rams around here 03 or 04 are rusted or starting to rust above the rear wheels any ideas on that issue ..... thanks ... TOM

Welcome what state are ya from could just be from salt on the roads during winter. The truck could very well just need a tune up. Plugs, wires, coil boots and a throttle body cleaning goes a long ways in these trucks. You can also do basic mods such as intake, tuner and exhaust.

Thanks for the quick reply i live in mass. I just though this truck would take of better than it did with a hemi in it.. Did not seem like 345 hp to me just wondering what could be wrong... Maybe something simple.... Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Kenny summed it up well. That hemi might just need a good freshening up to get its pep back.

The 2500 is allot more weight than a 1500 .. bigger frame , suspension , axles ect ... so yes it will be slower than a 1500 with a Hemi .
What gears did it have ?

That 345 is at the crank also, figure over 20-30% drivetrain loss.

Welcome to RF. i dont believe any 2500's came with the MDS. i have an '04 2500 hemi and you can tell it has a hemi. I would go with a tune up like everybody else already said.
