I am in the market for a used car. Looking at the 2005 Ram. Wanted to know if anything to stay away from? 5.7 or 4.7? What kind of mpg are you getting with a quadcab 5.7 4x4? Any other things to look for?

What I am looking at?
2005 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT, 65,543 miles
HEMI Magnum 5.7L V8 SMPI and 4WD
Quadcab $17,497

That is a good deal. I looked at a 4door 4x4 hemi and 117k on the clock. Dealer wanted 15k for it. I flipped him the bird and left.

That's about the same mileage as mine was once I bought it. It's only 2wd and I paid $12500 last yr. I would offer $14000 for it.

Welcome, deff get the 5.7 if you have a choice. The 4.7 is a strong motor but can have head issues.

Truckless...
I agree with the above, the Hemi is definitely the better choice of the two. That is a reasonable price, but it never hurts to talk them down some. Great trucks

I bought my 07' Hemi QC in January with 55k miles clean as could be for 16k. With the market the way it is and gas prices going up theres got to be some wiggle room on that price.

Yep the intake is making all the noise. I wouldnt let that deture you. If you truely dont like it just sell the intake and the stock intakes can be found for cheap.

The Cold air intake lets more air flow and is a good mod

But I agree HEMI for the win!
