ok so when I bought my wifes 02 4.7 qc the guy told us the abs light comes on and its just a cheap sensor. everything still worked ok so I figured it would be ok. The brake light and the abs light comes on between40-60 mph and stays on until the truck is shut off....I replaced the abs sensor on the rear diff.....same problem. Replaced the brake switch......same problem. Im out of ideas and dont know where to turn at this point. any help or ideas would be great. oh its not showing any codes either with the self check. I dont have a brake code scanner to check that though.

I highly doubt that the toner ring is the problem. The toner ring is a steel sprocket that is attached to the ring gear and as it rotates the sensor magnet picks up the sprocket teeth as that is your measure for speed. The toner ring touches nothing and for it to break would be catastrophic to the whole rear end. There may be another sensor on the front wheel bearing assembly.

I had the same problem when I first got my truck. Took it to Dodge and it turned out to be the front left ABS sensor kept loosing signal. Have you tried replacing the front ABS sensors?

I also have the same issue with my 02. I only have rear wheel ABS so I'm going to assume it will fix when I replace the sensor on the rear. I hope at least.

Well I just replaced the sensor in the rear and still have that damn light on. I really hope I don't have to take this to the dealer. Where would I find the front sensor if I have one?

^^^^ This

Or it could also be a dirty sensor. I had the same issue on a different make in the past. Dirty sensor was my issue.

i bought a Zurich tester at Harbor Freight. It was the model 13. told where the bad sensor was or broken wire to it. Had already replaced the sensor so I began checking the wires that went to it and sure enough, there was a broken wire. soldered new wire splice to it and heat shrunk and taped it and put it back inside the plastic sleeve. Good as new.
