On my overhead display, where it gives the average MPG, there's an light that displays the word 'ECO'. It's been on since I bought this truck a few months back.

I did some searching here and on other Ram forums and never found a definitive answer. Some say it's on when MDS is engaged, others say it's displayed when the truck is being driven in an efficient manner. I sometimes drive like a maniac, and there's no way that MDS is CONSTANTLY engaged.

What gives? Just a light stuck on? Or is my truck broke?
Grabbed a quick picture for you guys, pay no attention to the quality. I took it with my toaster.

I only have the 4.7 with no MDS. Mine is like you said, it comes on when you're driving efficiently and goes off when I give it gas.

its for average economy. You can change modes between average and instant. Its not the same as eco mode on the 4th gens.

Yeah...I was just about to answer my own question. It's amazing what you can learn when you actually read the manual. :roflsquared:
