I have a 5 speed 4x4 ram 1500 and when I stare to come to a stop I hear a loud grinding noise , so I changed the u joints, and it didn't help. Also while I was changing the u joints I noticed I could slide my drive shaft about a half inch, is that normal?

Welcome to RF!

I'm wondering if it could be your brakes?

i was cheking my ujoints the other day for play and i was trying to shake everything around i didnt notice any play in my driveshaft either. not sure tho. i just had new cv axles put in. the passenger side seized to the output assembly in the diff. rode fine but did have a little grind/rubmle feel slowing down and starting off. do u feel the grind as well as hear it? if its just slowing down i would def am to brakes. but it could be anything rotational
