I need an FCM

Can anyone help a brother out?

I have an intermittent wiper issue, they work intermittently. I first rebuilt my wiper motor, then swapped for a new one, then changed the MF switch and no changes. Trying FCM now. Hopefully don't have to go TIPM next.

This is out of my 03 manual: what I have read in the past is that usually issues are associated with the MF switch.
Wiper and washer system operation are completely
controlled by the instrument cluster and FCM logic
circuits, and that logic will only allow these systems
to operate when the ignition switch is in the Accessory
or On positions. Battery current is directed from
a B(+) fuse in the Integrated Power Module (IPM) to
the wiper on/off relay and the wiper high/low relay in
the IPM through a fused B(+) circuit. The FCM uses
low side drivers to control wiper system operation by
energizing or de-energizing the wiper high/low and
wiper on/off relays. The FCM uses a high side driver
to control the operation of the washer pump motor
unit. The multi-function switch circuitry receives a
clean ground output from the instrument cluster on a
multi-function switch return circuit, then provides
resistor multiplexed inputs to the instrument cluster
on an intermittent wipe mux circuit to indicate the
selected wiper system mode and on a wash/beam
select mux circuit to indicate the selected washer system
mode.
The hard wired circuits and components of the
wiper and washer system may be diagnosed and
tested using conventional diagnostic tools and procedures.
However, conventional diagnostic methods
may not prove conclusive in the diagnosis of the
instrument cluster, the FCM, or the electronic message
inputs to or outputs from the instrument cluster
or FCM that control the wiper and washer system
operating modes. The most reliable, efficient, and
accurate means to diagnose the instrument cluster or
the FCM inputs and outputs related to the various
wiper and washer system operating modes requires
the use of a DRBIII scan tool.

After replacing my MF switch and the wiper motor, I had it into a shop and they pulled a fault code from the FCM that had to do with the wipers. Don't remember the technical description but basically the wipers can't find 'park'.

Maybe do a search of "Front control Module". I think I would inspect the IPM for corrosion and look for damage. Sometimes these issues can be repaired. Let us know what you find.

This from the service Manual
OPERATION
As messages are sent over the PCI bus circuit, the
front control module reads these messages and controls
power to some of the vehicles electrical systems
by completing the circuit to ground (low side driver)
or completing the circuit to 12 volt power (high side
driver). The following functions are Controlled by
the Front Control Module:
² Headlamp Power with Voltage Regulation
² Windshield Wiper “ON/OFF” Relay Actuation
² Windshield Wiper “HI/LO” Relay Actuation
² Windshield Washer Pump Motor
² Fog Lamp Relay Actuation
² Park Lamp Relay Actuation
² Horn Relay Actuation
The following inputs are Received/Monitored by
the Front Control Module
:
² B+ Connection Detection
² Power Ground
² Ambient Temperature Sensing
² Ignition Switch Run
² Washer Fluid Level Switch
² Windshield Wiper Park Switch
² PCI Bus Circuit

It said the FCM monitors the wiper park position. This sort of indicates to me that the FCM isn't the source of the "wiper Park signal". Since you have changed out the wiper motor I'm thinking maybe a broken wire or bad connection could be the issue.

I highly recommend you look at the wiring schematic as it shows how the wiper motor Park sense is grounded and the wire returning to the FCM to sense "park" position. My guess is it is a issue with the ground.
